Now

Born and raised in Chicago's South Side Pharoah interest in mixing started at age 10 by mixing with the radio and an automatic belt drive turntable, you know the ones that ejects the arm when it gets to the end of the record. This is when hip-hop was born and where House was born and Pharoah was in the middle of it all. His family has always been musically inclined singing and dancing for establishments all across Chicago. This is where Pharoah gets his knowledge of music, coupled with his turntable talent, makes him one of the best kept secrets in the DJ world. During High School his mixing talent developed with house parties and guest appearances at clubs. Joining the Marines after school doing a year in Japan and mixing there, then back to California where he held down the number 3 club in Southern California (Club Del Mar). Still making appearances at private events and local clubs (e.g., E-street alley, Mr. O's, etc.) Moving to Vegas in 2000 he now holds his own on KVEG, Hot 97.5 fm earning his own mixshow on weekend nights.
When I see this picture I not only think of home, but I think of 102.7 FM WBMX, Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Kenny "Jammin" Jason, Bad Boy Bill, Ralphie "Rockin" Rosario, Mike "Hitman" Wilson. I think about all of the basement parties we were a part of. When the only gangs were dance groups that wore the same t-shirts with Iron-On letters and white gloves, poppin and breakin'.
The sole owner of Gotta Have
Muzik! formed in 1987, Pharoah has performed at various functions and nightclubs
from Japan to California. Holding the No. 3 club in California from
1987-1996 (DelMar Enlisted Club Camp Pendleton). You name it we've probably done it.
Partnering with Michael Morris (DJ Mozzak) for the past years, now one of the Top radio DJs
in Texas, they will once again run hot-mixes with 4 turntables. Also in
his alliance is DJ Tony of Pure Energy Productions, and Illa-noize of Rising Sons
Records.
